EMANUEL'S BLACK EARTH TIGER
TO BE RELEASED AUGUST 27th 2007
"...epic splintered post-hardcore...these rookies already rock like
veterans" NME
"Energetic and brimming with honest lyrics, this is the new soundtrack for
disaffected youth" Rock Sound
"singer Matt Breen is somewhere between Fugazi's Ian Mackaye and Weezer's
River Cuomo...punk new nihilistic, angst-ridden poster child.." Kerrang
Louisville,KY's finest, EMANUEL, are to release Black Earth Tiger on August 27th through Vagrant Records. Recorded in Seattle at Studio Litho and produced by Terry Date (Pantera, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins), it is the follow up to the breakthrough album, 2005’s Soundtrack To A Headrush, which ALTERNATIVE PRESS penned “…a practically flawless debut." and Kerrang “….magnificent stuff.”
The band are currently on the road in the US, heading from coast to coast, and back again with Madina Lake, Funeral For A Friend and label mates Alexisonfire. “We’re going to rotate a couple of our favourites from the new record into our set every night,” says vocalist Matt Breen. “We’ve been waiting forever to start playing these new songs live. We started writing this record over a year ago and we’ve been holding back.”
The band are already looking ahead to their next tour, which will follow Black Earth Tiger’s release, “We can’t wait for Black Earth Tiger to come out, because when the record drops, we’re going to play a lot of it. It’s hard to describe when you just hear a cross section of it, but Black Earth Tiger is more than just different songs; it’s a different vibe and different textures. If fans were feeling Soundtrack To A Headrush back when it was new, I know that they will understand the new shit,” explains Breen.
Emanuel will be over in the UK for live dates in the Autumn.
