The Films will release their second single Belt Loops on 11th June, taken from their debut album Don’t Dance Rattlesnake due later that month. Produced by Tim Patalan, Belt Loops, “a paranoid jealousy kind of song” according to lyricist Michael Trent, will be on CD and download only. Another track from the album “Holliewould Getaway” is included, as well as a track exclusive to this release –Blitzreig Bop (originally performed by The Ramones) which is produced by the band. The Films MySpace site was stolen a couple of weeks ago (they have it back now!) and the band commented “We are currently hunting the person who did this, and we will crush them!.”
The Films hail from Charleston, South Carolina, but currently reside in a warehouse in Brooklyn. They’ve already toured Europe with the Kooks and OkGo, as well as the US with the Horrors. They play their own previously announced headline UK tour starting May 23rd in Wigan, taking in the Wireless Festival and 3 London shows along the way (the Borderline, Club Zero and Another Music = Another Kitchen), they finish up in Cardiff on June 10th.
Bassist Jake Sinclair as his alter ego The Dirt Lab, has just completed a remix of the Horror’s track “Death At The Chapel”, be very scared!
Check yourselves in to the Films’ Fabulous Freakhouse; you’ll be staying for a while.
