HELLYEAH ALBUM DEBUTS AT #9 IN US BILLBOARD CHARTS, & BAND ANNOUNCE THEIR NEW BASS PLAYER
HELLYEAH’s self titled album debuted at #9 in the US charts this week. This the highest debut chart position for a new hard rock artist, entering Billboard's Top 200 charts at #9, and Billboard's Rock Chart at #3.
In other news, Damageplan bassist Bob "Zilla" Kakaha has officially replaced Jerry Montano in HELLYEAH for the band's upcoming tour dates.
HELLYEAH drummer Vinnie who played with Bob Zilla in Damageplan alongside Vinnie's late brother "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, told MTV in January, "I told Bob after [Dimebag was murdered in 2004 ] that no matter what happens, I'm gonna find a way to play in a band with him again because me and him are just bros. It was kind hard to go ahead and commit to this band without Bob being part of it, but since Jerry was the bass player it was already set in place. And Bob's been really cool and understanding. And he's doing his tattoo shop in Texas right now. At some point in the future, we'll probably play together again."
HELLYEAH tour the US in may, before making their way to the UK for an appearance at this year's Download festival. The band will also will take part in this summer's Family Values Tour which includes Evanescence, Atreyu, Trivium, and Flyleaf, alongside headliners Korn.
A three-minute clip featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the making of HELLYEAH's "You Wouldn't Know" video has been posted at YouTube. The clip was shot on February 25, 2007 with director Nathan Cox in the parking lot of the Dallas, Texas strip club owned by Vinnie Paul. The finished "You Wouldn't Know" video is also available for viewing at this location.
