WAR FRONT: TURNING POINT

- Atari Planning to Release 10TACLE STUDIOS Eagerly Awaited 3D RTS in March 2007 -

Developed by Digital Reality, War Front: Turning Point looks at an “alternate reality” to World War II where Hitler is assassinated early on and new powers take over the German command and begin using experimental weapons. In addition to a refreshing storyline, the game will offer players sophisticated resource and technology management systems combined with action packed, in-your-face combat. Players can choose what missions to fight, what troops to use, and when to call in reinforcements. Completing objectives and capturing strategic locations such as train stations or airfields in each mission will make it easier to win subsequent campaigns. Each mission has multiple primary and secondary objectives providing almost limitless strategic choices.

Two comprehensive single-player campaigns portray an epic struggle of good-versus-evil with over 90 minutes of video sequences, detailed characters and fast-paced tactical matches.  At the same time,
an action-packed multiplayer mode allows for up to ten players to compete either against or alongside each other in teams or as individuals playing as the Soviets, Germans or Americans.  The perfect balance of power between the factions in the multi-player mode guarantees players can enjoy online matches in the long term.

"War Front - Turning Point"

What would happen if Hitler had been assassinated early on in WWII and the German war machine came under control of a new regime?

Digital Reality and 10tacle Studios AG aim to answer that question in War Front: Turning Point, bringing gamers an "alternate reality" real-time strategy game. Players will be exposed to a whole new WWII timeline, new battles and a variety of secret and experimental weapons.

Eye-popping graphics and a refreshing plot will keep gamers pinned to their PCs as they attempt to alter or ensure the outcome of a vastly different World War II.

Some of the features of War Front
  • The first "Science-Fiction/World War II" RTS title that combines resource gathering, army building, base construction and a full-fledged technology tree with an intuitive interface and accessible tactical combat in a style that will delight casual and veteran strategy gamers alike.

  • A detailed technology tree allows for a variety of recognized WWII weapons along with special, nation-specific, secret and super weapons such as multi-turreted tanks, jet-pack soldiers, stealth bombers, armored mechs and more.

  • Two single-player campaigns portray an epic struggle of good-versus-evil in which Hitler is killed early in the war, taking history and the player in a nail-biting new direction. The story is written by some of Hollywood's brightest screenwriting talents and told through a mixture of immersive cinematic cut scenes and fast-paced, tactical game play.

  • An action-packed multiplayer mode allows for up to ten players to compete against or cooperate with each other in teams or as individuals playing the Soviets, Germans or Americans. An Internet-based ladder will serve to memorialize the game's top tacticians world-wide.

  • Players can control units in a traditional top-down RTS perspective or take direct control and jump into turrets or attach to any combat vehicle for a near-FPS experience.

  • Three distinct heroes for each nation, each with its own special abilities that can help turning the tide of battle in the player's favour. Heroes gain experience and become more powerful, granting offensive and defensive bonuses to allied troops while weakening opposing units.

SCREENSHOTS

"Graphically, it looks like developer Digital Reality, best known for their recent Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps, has pulled out a few new tricks for the game. The level of detail on units is remarkable... According to CDV, the game will have over 100 units on three different sides (Americans, Russian, and Germans) for players to blow each other up with. While the game's plays fast and loose with history, the developers aren't nearly as loose with the strategy section, as they claim that while the strategy level will be a fairly accessible Command & Conquer style game, there should be plenty of depth for strategy gamers who want to dig for it."
- GameSpy

"We came away from War Front thinking that the game is probably going to shape up into something pretty fun to play. The graphical power of the game is pretty obvious when you see it in motion, and the alternate-history timeline should provide for some pretty unique surprises in the single-player campaigns." - GameSpot
