Plot:
To go where no blonde has gone before, yes Harvard to study law. It is a common fact that blondes are stereotyped as brainless bimbos, Elle to start with gives this impression until she realises her boyfriend is dumping her to go to Harvard to study law. He wants a wife who is more in tune with a legal background than what is new in the Cosmopolitan fashion circles. She decides to study hard to pass her LSTAT’s and get in to the Oxford/Cambridge of the US university system, Harvard. She manages to use all her charms and a producer for her well-polished admission video that luckily for Elle, the entire panel are men. She is accepted and proves she can get the admission grade despite only having a degree in Fashion Design. She ends up having an uphill battle to blend in with all the other people who see her as a Barbie with no brains.

About the film:
People will no doubt see this film and think; here we go again another boring high school movie with pretty kids in it. This film is not that at all, it has a great story line and an interesting plot. The character of Elle Wood, which is played by Reece Witherspoon and notably, played very well. Elle is a character in which you laugh at but also feel compassion for and end up really hoping she gets on, because she is a nice person trying to get on in a world where blondes are stereotyped and labelled as unable to achieve any level of academic qualifications. Elle also has a little dog called Bruiser which when you see the dog makes you laugh at the name, the dog is a good actor who compliments an excellent performance from Ms Witherspoon.
About the DVD:
This DVD has just come out at time of writing this review for region 1. The picture and sound quality is faultless. The disk itself has two versions of the film, one in widescreen 16:9 and standard 4:3 TV’s; you select which one you want from the start-up screen. The extras are plentiful also.

Overall:
I really liked this film; having seen it at the cinema a week earlier had to buy it when I found it was out on DVD. It is a great feel good movie that will make you laugh, also Reece Witherspoon’s performance as Elle is excellent and you have feelings for her character which I think can be devoid in a lot of movies. It has a good cast and direction through out. It all compliments a great DVD in my opinion.
