Legally Blonde 2 on DVD Review | Movie / Film

Elle Wood’s is back and in the next part of her life after graduating as a Lawyer at Harvard University in the first instalment. She heads to Washington D.C. to join the staff of a congresswoman in order to pass a bill to ban animal testing.

Plot: Elle Wood’s is back and in the next part of her life after graduating as a Lawyer at Harvard University in the first instalment. She heads to Washington D.C. to join the staff of a congresswoman in order to pass a bill to ban animal testing while intermingled with planning the Wedding to the lecturer boyfriend Emmett she met while at Harvard.

Review: I have to say compared to the first film this was disappointing, the story was found to be wanting in quite a few areas. That said, it was enjoyable, but only because of the Elle character (played by Reece Witherspoon) giving a performance with her heart filled charisma, which was liked from the first movie. I think the film lacked the emotion and innocence of the first. The story was much weaker and the comedy was harder to distinguish. They had not developed any of the other characters around Elle, she was the central role but the others appeared to be just tagging along and out of place for the most part of it.

About the disk: The picture was well defined and clear free from digital noise. The menus were also nice touch. The audio was good and full of substance, if only the story of the film was the same!! The extra’s comprehensive and as follows:

• Five Featurettes: Blonde Ambition: Production, Pretty in Pink: Design and Art, Stars and Stripes? Never! Costumes, Hair Apparent: Hair and Make-Up, Elle's Anthem: Music and Score
• Audio Commentary with Jennifer Coolidge, Alanna Ubach and Jessica Cauffiel
• Outtakes
• Deleted Scenes
• 2 x Easter Eggs
• Gag Reel
• We Can by LeAnn Rimes: Music Video followed by soundtrack spot
• Welcome to Delta Nu: Interactive Quiz
• Feature Length Trivia Track
• Photo Gallery
• Theatrical Trailer
• SIMS 2 Preview

So to conclude a rather disappointing film compared to the first one. That is not saying people won’t enjoy this at all is unfair as it is entertaining. It is just a shame the story was a big let down and the comedy a rarer commodity overall. I would guess because the first film was so excellent then your expectations follow for the sequel, unfortunately it fell well short of it. So if you liked the first one, give it a go but don’t expect as much.
