Review:
I really enjoyed watching this disk as it does what comedy is supposed to do, that is make the audience laugh. It is best described as the British version of Friends but more adult orientated with comedy being more sexually descriptive and in your face without been obscene. This show is shown on BBC2 and I missed the first season and started on the second one currently on TV. I was so pleased to see the season I missed on DVD.
The actors all blend in well and play their respective roles really well, Jane and Steve have got me in stitches on many occasions. Jane is the eccentric who thinks she is gods gift to man and often shows herself up, while Jeff is the weird yet funny individual who nobody takes seriously, very much the Ross type character from "Friends" but more believable as human! That said all the cast seem to fit in well. I think it helps to like the "Friends" type show; although the situation is similar the comedy is very British and as stated before more adult intended. You may actually prefer this to the US version show. If you like comedy I would give it ago.
Sound & Picture:
The audio is Dolby Digital stereo and clear and crisp, the picture is excellent with very well defined colours and textures, as you would expect from DVD. The screen format is Widescreen 16:9. I wish most of the "Friends" DVD were this high quality.
Overall:
A great DVD if you’re into comedy and like "Friends" type shows but with a British twist of humour.
