Just had a look at the Odeon website for my local cinema and damn there are a load of films out at the moment that I'd love to see. Just out at the moment there's (in no particular order):

Hancock
Kung Fu Panda
Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Journey to the Center of the Earth (although I'd like to see this in 3D)
Forbidden Kingdom
Wanted

I very much doubt I'm going to get to see any of them either. It does give me a good excuse to buy the DVDs (or Blu Ray) when they come out though. My rationalle is that a trip to the cinema costs £7 each for tickets then at least a further £8 for muchies (the wife likes the popcorn and I hit the pick 'n' mix) so that's £22 straight off. After a couple of months I can BUY the damn thing for a fraction of that. Some films you just have to see on the big screen though!

I saw Beowolf in 3D and it was excellent. Not sure I'll buy the DVD, but for the 3D experience it was great. I'd really like to see Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3D if possible. Our local Odeon doesn't do it, but there's a UCG in Didsbury that does so I'll have to see if it's on there. From the trailers, Wanted looks really good. It's supposed to be a dark and very violent comic book film. It looks good, but is going to be a DVD purchase at best.
