Saw it a while ago and it was good, but not as good as Casino Royale IMO. Some of the action scene cinematography was just too jerky and frenetic.

Sounds a much better policy and should save you lots of hassle chasing after people.
And i'm all in favour of a bird in the hand

I agree with what ou're saying and what I'm going to try this year is that the companies send through the stock to me before the competition ends so I can get winners sorted as soon as it ends. I think that should improve things for most of the competitions, there may be the odd one or two where the PR companies delay but in the whole I think I'm going to be a bit more aggressive up front, a bird in the hand and all that!

I can understand the problems with some promoters, and as you seem to have problems with them, maybe it would be a good idea to have the prizes sent to you first so Digital Lard actually have them BEFORE you run their promotions?, it will save you wasted time chasing prizes up and means they won't get something for nothing by renaging on their promised prize? It should make your life easier from the constant hassle of getting the prizes from the promoters?
You could of course always stop running competitions, but as competitions usually attract new visitors that could also mean less people visiting the site, the downside of course is running competitions and not displaying prize winners or sending out prizes will also discourage people from coming back? (and may also prevent new visitors as "word" gets round that entering a competition on Digital Lard is a waste of time as winners "never seem to get chosen or listed" so putting off many new visitors and potential new customers/members etc).
Just my opinion for what its worth i quite like the web site (and the reviews), but even i get frustrated at entering the competitions and rarely seeing any winners or winners lists and months old competitions with still no winners listed.

My bad on this one as I sort out the competitions. The way these are run we get promised stock from PR companies trying to promote their titles. Some are good and send the stock through quickly, in which case I can get the winners sorted out promptly, but some PR compaines, once they've had their coverage, disappear into the ether and don't reply to emails requesting the competition stock promised. I've got stock in for a couple on the list so will sort out the winners asap, but I'm currently chasing stock fruitlessly on a lot of them.

Thanks for the reply, a winners list would be much appreciated, i left it a couple of weeks but still cant see who won on the now rather large list of closed competitions.

So anyone seen this yet?
I liked Casino Royale but didn't like the QOS trailer that much.

Hi polarbear, welcome to the forums.
Your right we don't get the competitions closed and winners sorted quick enough, I'll have a good look at the competition page and see what we can clean up there.
Thanks for the feeback, always appreciated.

Updating and drawing winners to long closed competitions could be considered an improvement Some comps closed in september and are still awaiting winners to be drawn (not that i expect to be one lol, - especially after saying this lol, but it would be nice to see some new winners in the lists? )

Yeah, it's an incredible price! There've been a few good box set prices around recently though. Got that West Wing through for only £49.99! Complete Friends is in store at HMV and Zavvi for £49.99 as well.
