Returning to films that I wish to see, here are the next five trailers that’s aught my eye, but after watching the trailers is it go to the movies or DVD rental?

6. Clone Wars

OK, it’s a cartoon, but it all looks bloody good and stylish. I am a fan of Star Wars and some movies are better than others but I certainly like the look and feel of this film when I see the trailer the other day. Perhaps ill take my son to see this. (Movies)

7. Eagle Eye

Starring Shia LaBeouf of transformers fame this seems like a pretty good action film. The trailer shows it to be a bit different with the story, however I think it will be a pretty standard action flick at the movies, I am not too bothered if I don’t see this at the movies so a rental for me I think. (DVD Rental)

When I first saw this trailer the beginning reminded me of Pitch Black and I thought this was another in that series. But it isn’t… only it does still look like a science fiction film. I liked the trailer, the action was definitely my sort of thing and I will catch this at the movies. (Movies).

Ooohhhh this looks scary, kinda blair witch with the hand held thing that is being done to death lately, but this trailer really had me interested. (Movies).

10. Terminator Salvation

I am a massive fan of the 1st and 2nd Terminators, although #3 was a bit naff, but Christian Bale being a superb actor I really think that this will be awesome, and it will be my first terminator at the movies. (Movies)

I think it was around 1979 when I tried to sneak into the local Odeon cinema to see Ridley Scott’s Alien that I started to become more aware of movies and finding out what I liked in terms of genre. But somewhat surprisingly even at that young age I was enjoying some of the older films such as Forbidden Planet.

It was not until I was given my first DVD that the bug hit me. And it was all down to a mate giving me a Region 1 version of “The Matrix” as his player was only a region 2. From there it has been a mainly constant purchasing process to increase my collection which currently sits at 1000+ individual movies and television episodes; although invelos which only counts per barcode shows it as 485.

I have been on the Digital Lard site since its earlier incantation DVD Lard, and after a period of time took the plunge into doing reviews and this is what I currently do.

My favourite genres are mainly Action/Adventure, Horror, Sci-Fi and Mystery although I do like films from other genres too.

Ten of my favourites film are (in no particular order) Alien, Aliens, 12 Angry Men (1957), Forbidden Planet, The Thing, Jaws, Blade Runner, 300, Full Metal Jacket, Forrest Gump, Although there are plenty more movies that I could list here.

Favourite actors at the moment would be Christian Bale, Christopher Walken, Johnny Depp, Basil Rathbone, Samuel L Jackson, Favourite directors are David Fincher and Ridley Scott.
