About Jazz

My name is Jasvinder Singh (Jazz) and I am a university student, currently doing electrical engineering (it's very boring). I love DVDs, and have had a player for 3 years now. I am also a huge Aston Villa fan (to be honest also a bit disillusioned by the club). I am trying to setup a good system for my player, I have 5.1 amp and speakers, I am now just looking for one of those cool all in one LCD remotes, and a cool plasma TV. I am currently going through a Hong Kong phase with my DVDs, my favourites being The Killer, Police Story, Once Upon A Time In China 2, and Drunken Master 2. I also enjoy good horrors; I especially enjoyed Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween and The Beyond. I enjoy a wide range of films, and have over 30 in my collection (which is good for a student). My favourite actor is Bruce Cambell (don't mock me), and I think Kevin Smith is the funniest guy in Hollywood. P.S. I dream of winning an Oscar for writing, directing and starring in my own movie.

Sam Raimi, now an A List director thanks to Spiderman, found himself on rocky waters early on. After critical success for Evil Dead, and huge cult following thanks to Evil Dead 2, Sam was given his first studio produced film. He wanted to do Phantom, the studio's said no, so he made his own hero - Darkman. While no doubt in my mind the film is good...

Fulltime Killer
Jazz  //  11/04/2005 00:00:00

Since the departure of Chow Yun Fat and John Woo to Hollywood, there has been a noticeable genre missing from Hong Kong cinema - Heroic Bloodshed. This doesn't mean there have not been attempts to recreate the success, but it means there have not been many good ones. So director Johnnie To in 1999 and tried his luck with the film Fulltime Killer. So with singer/actor Andy...
