Professor Eddie Jessop (William Hurt) is hell bent on finding the essence of human existence through sensory-deprivation experiments with the aid of an isolation chamber and mind altering drugs.

This film is all about imagination and challenges what you might think possible. Balancing plot and wild visuals Altered States is both fascinating and original. The script is intelligent and thought provoking and the special effects mind blowing. This is a film that leaves the viewer to draw their own conclusion, and questioning what indeed the human essence is.
